City of Jackson Utilities

The City of Jackson is supplied natural gas by Minnesota Energy Resources.   The City of Jackson and the Federated Rural Electric Association provide electric service in the area.   The City of Jackson is provided local telephone and internet access by Qwest and Soutwest Minnesota BroadbandSouthwest Minnesota Broadband and the City also provide cable television.  Waste Management provides residential and commercial garbage and recycling service to the City of Jackson.

The Jackson Municipal Airport, located within the City, provides a 3,600 foot paved and lit runway for General Aviation.  The Jackson Municipal Airport is equipped with two runways.  Runway 31-13 is a hard surface and is 3,600 feet long.  Runway 22-04 is a turf runway and is 2,300 feet long; this runway is closed in the winter months.  The AWOS Number is (507)847-5810, NBD 353.

Fairmont Municipal Airport, located within 30 miles of the City, provides a 5,500 foot paved, lit runway which also provides for commercial flights.

Sioux Falls, SD Regional Airport, located within 80 miles of the City, provides for larger commercial flights to the region.
